Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with the experience of applicant. Pay range: $25.00 to $29.82 per hour.

Job Description: Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population.

The Career Coach – Powhatan High School ACA provides career coaching and enrollment support to students participating in the Advanced College Academy (ACA) program at Powhatan High School. The position supports students’ academic, career, and transfer planning and assists all interested Powhatan High School students with initial and ongoing enrollment at Reynolds Community College, ensuring a smooth transition from high school to postsecondary education.

Responsibilities
  • Position requires regular on-site presence at Powhatan High School.
  • Evening, early morning, or occasional weekend activities may be required for student events or field trips.
  • Requires frequent interaction with minors and adherence to school division and college policies.
  • Successful candidates must pass required background checks and meet employment eligibility requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of high school graduation requirements, community college enrollment processes, ACA curriculum, and regional career pathways
  • Skill in providing academic advising, career coaching, and postsecondary planning to secondary school students
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including delivering presentations and documenting student interactions
  • Skill in maintaining accurate electronic records using case management and data systems
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with students, parents, school counselors, faculty, and college staff
  • Ability to coordinate student activities, meetings, and group sessions
Additional Considerations

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in a secondary or postsecondary educational setting.
