Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Kindergarten Teacher at Locust Grove Primary. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, helping them develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interaction. This full-time position requires a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the academic and personal growth of each student.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and support student needs.
  • Provide individualized support and intervention for students as needed.
  • Organize and participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid teaching certification for early childhood education or willing to obtain a Virginia teaching license.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues. li>
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
