This general posting is for applicants interested in teaching the secondary subject listed above for the school year. School-specific vacancies for this subject area will be posted beginning in March 2026.
Essential Duties- Deliver the curriculum established by the Henrico County School Board and administration
- Plan daily instructional activities that demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and use state and district approved curriculum
- Use current school and division data to plan instruction
- Develop formative and summative assessments, using multiple tools to assess student learning on an ongoing basis, and to differentiate instruction
- Maintain order within the classroom and school with proactive classroom management and a well-organized learning environment
- Maintain records of student performance and attendance, and communicate this effectively with students and their parents
- Select and use a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students
- Coordinate instruction with other staff (special education, gifted, remediation staff, volunteers, etc.) relative to student learning
- Stay abreast of current educational trends and best practices as these relate to classroom instruction and effective schools
- Maintain professional manner when interacting with students, parents, patrons, community agencies and colleagues
- Incorporate and model appropriate use of technology to support instruction and student learning
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
- A minimum of a Bachelor s degree and a valid teaching license in the subject listed above.
- Applicants with relevant college coursework and passing Praxis scores are encouraged to apply.
Positions are for the school year and are 209-day assignments.
Minimum annual starting salary: $57,925 Bachelors, $60,706 Masters, $63,620 Doctoral. The annual salary stated in this posting is based on the adopted financial plan. The annual salary for the coming school year will be determined once the school year financial plan is approved and adopted in the Spring of 2026.
