ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaches district approved curriculum.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of students work.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship and subject matter specified in state law and district policies.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional material to provide individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum to meet each pupils needs.
• Uses developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Communicates regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates pupils academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports.
• Identifies pupil needs and makes referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
• Plans and coordinates the work of para educators and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.

A single, district-paid health insurance premium is included. Other benefits such as dental and vision insurance as well as cafeteria plans/tax sheltered annuities are available at the employee's expense.

Starting salary $49,000 with a bachelor's degree based upon the  salary schedule, higher depending upon experience, graduate hours, and FTE.
