Substitutes at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School; Henrico

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Henrico, VA is seeking an enthusiastic individual who would be available to work a flexible as needed schedule for the  SY.

By nature of the position, sometimes very little notice is given of when a substitute is needed. We will make every attempt to give as much notice as possible when asking for someone to fill in for the regular teacher but there are times when emergencies occur and the request for your assistance will be a quick turn around and/or early in the morning.

A substitute teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School provides instruction to all students by following the lesson plans created by the full-time teacher. Our substitutes must be flexible and enjoy working with children. She/He will follow lesson plans which follow the Consensus Curriculum of the Diocese of Richmond. The substitute teacher reports to the Assistant Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

She/He will work cooperatively with other faculty and staff.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position must complete background screening requirements, have at least a high school diploma. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Desired qualities include someone who is flexible, reliable, and works well with fellow staff. Someone who has excellent communication and organizational skills, enjoys working with children, enthusiastic, patient and kind. Experience working in an educational setting is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands of the job may include but not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling and moving light furniture. Position requires active participation in the classroom environment which may include prolonged physical activity.
