Hiring Range: Adjunct faculty are paid based on a per-credit-hour rate. This rate is determined by the assigned rank and the discipline being taught. Assigned rank is based on a combination of education and teaching experience.

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Geography courses. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Part‑time adjunct teaching faculty‐ranked appointment without state benefits. Salary commensurate with the experience of the applicant, in graduate education in the field, related full‑time occupational employment, and full‑time equivalent teaching.

Master’s degree in Geography; or the Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Geography.

• Community college teaching experience. Experience with online teaching.
• Experience with Canvas.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to place a strong emphasis on student‑centered learning and provide an innovative e‑learning experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
