Part Time Program Manager (Mechanicsville, VA)

Pay Rate: $20-$23 (based on education and experience)

Program

Hours:

Monday through Friday 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary based on assigned location)

This position will begin with the 2025–2026 academic school year; qualified candidates will not begin work until August 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Safety & Joy:
    Exhibits role‑model qualities ensuring safety and joy standards are met by supporting a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities to a team of staff members. Supports operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date.
  • Safety Assurance:
    Consistently supports and reports on safety protocols to ensure the well‑being of all participants. Identifies and submits proof of MMR.
  • Continually coaches staff to foster respectful relationships, address challenges promptly, and maintain team cohesion and productivity.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 18+ years of age.
  • Proof of high‑school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs.
  • Coursework or training in child development and/or related field.
  • Communication skills; oral, written, and visual with adults and children.
  • Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
  • Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.

  • Daily Routine:
    Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe and engaging environment.
Virginia Requirements
  • Ability to meet state‑specific requirements;
  • First Aid and CPR‑in‑person;
  • Cleared tuberculosis test;
  • 21 Years or older;
  • Graduate degree in a child‑related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation from a college or university AND six months of programmatic experience;
  • OR;
  • Graduate degree in a child‑related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation from a college or university and one year of programmatic experience;
  • OR;
  • Forty‑eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from a college or university of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child‑related subjects and one year of programmatic experience;
  • OR;
  • Two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least one of the following education backgrounds;
  • a. A one‑year early childhood certificate from a college or university that consists of at least 30 semester hours;
