Position: Open Rank Faculty, Myeloma

Overview

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level, with subspecialty focus in multiple myeloma and plasma cell dyscrasia as a clinician/investigator. This is a clinical track position; rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications. The successful candidate will strengthen clinical and clinical research efforts in these disorders using the translational research opportunities and resources available at the University and UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The incumbent will participate in inpatient and outpatient services, multidisciplinary team care, and clinical research within the Cancer Center, and will contribute to teaching fellows, residents, and medical students as part of the educational mission. This position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and exemplary clinical care, including active participation in our educational mission.

Responsibilities
  • Attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Engage in a career focused on clinical investigation and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent required and board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by appointment start date. Dual certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology is encouraged but not required.
  • Board-certification in Internal Medicine is required if not board-certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by start date.
  • Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with multiple myeloma and plasma cell dyscrasias is required.
  • The successful candidate will pass a background check and pre-employment health/drug screening.
