Position Summary
The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism (Department of Medicine), seeks an Assistant Professor of Medicine on the Tenure‑Ineligible Clinical Faculty Track. The successful candidate will provide clinical care for endocrine disorders—including bone, mineral, diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, gonadal, and pituitary—primarily at our UVA Endocrinology/Diabetes clinic and local outreach clinics. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education and scholarship/quality improvement.
Divisionand Institutional Context
The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is a collegial and collaborative team with a rich tradition of excellence in research, patient care, and education. The Division has 32 faculty members (six full professors, eight associate professors, nine assistant professors, eleven nurse practitioners, and nine emeritus professors) and six endocrine fellows. Faculty members have led national professional societies, including former presidents of the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association, the Pituitary Society, and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research.

The successful candidate must hold an M.D. degree (or equivalent), be board certified in Internal Medicine, and be ABIM board‑eligible or certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by appointment start date. Experience in bone disorders will be prioritized.
