DBHDS is seeking dedicated psychiatrists to join mission-driven teams across the Commonwealth. As a valued clinical leader, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care in inpatient settings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams committed to recovery, dignity, and hope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments

  • Lead individualized, evidence-based treatment planning

  • Manage medication and therapeutic interventions using best practices

  • Coordinate care and discharge planning with internal and external partners

  • Participate in court hearings as necessary

  • Ensure timely, accurate medical documentation

  • Provide on-call coverage as scheduled

Qualifications
  • M.D. or equivalent from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an approved psychiatry residency program

  • Active Virginia medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)

  • DEA license to prescribe
