Overview
We are looking for a diligent surgical dental assistant to join our team at Millennium Center for Oral + Facial Surgery & Dental Implants. We are looking for an assistant who is ethical, highly organized and attentive to patients needs.
Oral Surgery Assistant Responsibilities- Preparing patients for surgery.
- Assisting the surgeon with all surgical procedures including operatory setup, anesthesia administration, and cleanup.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
- Monitoring patients in recovery room.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and follow-up procedures.
- Monitoring our stock of surgical supplies and medications and replenishing these, as needed.
- Ensuring that instruments and equipment are effectively maintained.
- Conduct imaging (X-ray, 3D scanning) as required.
- Performing administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling as needed.
- Providing excellent patient care at all times.
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery assistant certification preferred.
- Proficiency in using WinOMS management software is preferred.
- Radiography certification.
- A good understanding of surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and health and safety protocols.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
- Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with patients and team members.
- This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of both medical and dental terminology.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols.
- We are willing to train and support the right candidate if needed.
