The RolePurpose of the role:
You will be an early joiner in our USA operation, support setup, and serve as a senior leader and key contributor to push the discipline to new heights within Laminar and the broader industry.
Team:
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy, focused on understanding project problems, implementing optimal solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools, and technology. You will be part of the Project Planning Discipline Team, led initially by one of our planning discipline directors.
- To make construction projects deliver to near perfection
- To create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems
- To develop yourself and everyone around you
- Own the plan: manage the project plan for one or more projects, ensure it is followed, mitigate delays, and manage commercially
- Own the outcome: ensure the project team understands and focuses on the plan
- Report and inform: provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders to improve delivery
- Make scalable solutions: develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools with the team
- Develop everyone: maximise development of your team and educate clients to improve as well
- Bonus: take leadership in establishing our growth in the USA
- A construction engineering background with solid experience in construction project scheduling and controls, ability to align plans with objectives, strong software knowledge (e.g., Primavera P6), solid Excel skills, and interest in data
- Communication skills: proficient in written and verbal English with charisma and influence to guide construction teams
- Leadership capabilities: proactive self-leadership and ability to lead others by asking the right questions
- Impact: track record of delivering scalable, positive impact beyond basics

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat kinds of projects would I be working on? You’ll join a team delivering data centre projects, with international experience and diverse, complex engagements. Projects are fast-paced, multi-package, and require collaboration and problem-solving. They range from greenfield builds to expansions across the lifecycle of data centre delivery.
Who are our clients? Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values from £1m to £1bn+ globally.
Where would I be working? You may work from home, travel to sites to meet teams, or visit clients across the US, depending on what you want and what fits your life.
How does this connect to long-term impact? You’ll document new and evolving solutions in our knowledge repository, which we plan to open source. Your work will help build new products and be tested in the field to enable rapid iteration.
