Overview

As a Construction Safety Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well‑being of all personnel on construction sites. Your expertise in risk management and compliance will be essential as you develop and implement safety protocols that adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. You will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to foster a culture of safety while minimizing risks associated with construction activities.

Your proactive approach will help create a secure environment where projects can thrive.

What you will do
  • Develop, implement, and monitor site‑specific safety plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, and local safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and provide corrective‑action recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.
Basic qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience in construction projects.
  • At least 1 year of aviation‑related experience (airport or aviation projects).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and aviation safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze safety metrics and implement improvements.
Preferred qualifications
  • Three professional references from previous projects confirming qualifications, competencies, and work experience.
  • Dollar amount for each project.
  • TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) for each project.
  • Certifications preferred: CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional).
  • Knowledge of EM 385‑1‑1 is preferred.
