Overview
A warm and active family of 5 in McLean, VA, is seeking a nurturing, knowledgeable, live-out, long-term infant nanny who can travel to provide primary care for their 3-month-old daughter. The 6-year-olds attend school full-time and are cared for by a nanny. The ideal candidate will be collaborative in nature and thrive in a lively household. Mom works from home and travels for work 1-2/month both domestically and internationally.
Dad works from the office and also travels occasionally. Support is required Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm with some flexibility. The candidate will be expected to either travel with parent(s) or stay and provide sole charge care of the infant. Local candidates preferred; however, relocation is offered for the right candidate.
- All aspects of full-charge infant care, including feeding, diapering, bathing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the child
- Engaging the child in age-appropriate play such as reading, singing, object tracking, sensory activities, and tummy time
- Take the child to/from activities
- Engage in outdoor activities, walks, and neighborhood exploration
- Track developmental milestones and communicate progress to parents – Keep a nanny log
- Child-related housekeeping, laundry, toy sanitation, and sterilization of bottles and pump parts
- Organization of the child’s room, spaces, and belongings – Keep areas tidy
- Keep an inventory of supplies for the nursery and restock
- Adhere to schedules and make appropriate adjustments
- Support sleep and meal routines and food transitions
- Stay informed about child development and safety practices
- Create an environment for the child to grow and thrive

- Knowledge of milestones and how to achieve them
- Flexibility with the schedule
- Pet-Friendly – The family has a large dog
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Infant CPR certified
- Comfortable with work-from-home parents
- Must sign and adhere to NDA
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for possibly weeks at a time
- Valid U.S. Passport
- Up-to-date vaccinations, flu, and Tdap
- Legal to work in the U.S.
The family is offering $40 per hour, PTO, and a negotiable medical stipend.
