We enable consumers to exchange funds more safely with merchants using a variety of funding sources, which may include a bank account, a Pay Pal or Venmo account balance, Pay Pal and Venmo branded credit products, a credit card, a debit card, certain cryptocurrencies, or other stored value products such as gift cards, and eligible credit card rewards.

Our Pay Pal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk.

We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Sr. Director, Developer Platforms to lead our efforts in empowering external developers who utilize Pay Pal’s APIs to integrate payment capabilities and other value-added services for their businesses. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep technical background and a passion for building and nurturing developer communities.

Directs and controls the best practices and procedures within multiple domains within engineering through subordinate leaders

Develops methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people across multiple domains and at an enterprise level

Owns relationship with executives and SLT to drive alignment and the creation of business AND technical objectives that will be executed within their organization

Responsible for the delivery of high complexity projects/programs with Enterprise impact

Develops and executes software development strategy to achieve key business and technical objectives which contributes to the development of overall engineering strategy

Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across software development and engineering, assessing variables, evaluating fundamental issues, and providing direction for engineering

Defines organizational roadmap and ensures alignment with Pay Pal-wide objectives. Sets high level organizational strategy and budget across multiple domains

Collaborates with direct team, managers in org, stakeholders, managers in other orgs, external partners, business stakeholders, technology & business leadership

12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
