Position Summary

The Automotive Technician plays a pivotal role within our automotive service team. As a vital member, you learn and develop foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you handle routine inspections, contribute to vehicle assessments, and assist in repair procedures. You may also interact with customers, explaining repair procedures and answering inquiries. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay

Range

$16.15 – $24.23 per hour. Technicians earn flat‑rate compensation for each eligible task, reflecting regional productivity averages.

Responsibilities
  • Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.
  • Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.
  • Install batteries and check electrical systems.
  • Perform tire maintenance.
  • Install parts.
  • Road test vehicles.
  • Obtain or maintain at least one A.S.E. certification (A1–A8) within the first two years of employment; certification fees are paid by the company, and a bonus is awarded for each test passed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
  • Valid automobile driver's license at all times with ability to operate customer and company vehicles.
  • Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance and tire repair services, including oil changes, basic inspections, and tire repair.
  • Reading, writing, and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of automotive repair experience, completion of a Vocational‑Technical School program in a related field, or demonstrated skills via third‑party certificates or assessment.
  • A.S.E. certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications.
