Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Roll Form Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the set up and operation of the Rolling Mill(s), while meeting all required safety and productivity requirements, ensuring quality of production parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and quality inspection processes.
Responsibilities- Operate, including the startup, production and shut down of the Rolling Mill.
- Perform quality required checks including first piece part (green tag part).
- Utilize hand measuring tools including:
Micrometers, Calipers, Tape measure, Feeler gages - Set and adjust roll pressure as required.
- Perform required preventative maintenance.
- Set shut height on the pre-pierce press and make proper adjustments to flying die.
- Install and place mandrels according to set-up charts.
- Demonstrate proficiency sweeping parts to specification and fine-tuning mandrel.
- Perform cutoff blade, die steel, side cam and other perishable cutoff tooling replacements as required.
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot the following: twist, SPC issues, length and centering issues, cross-section dimensional issues.
- Function as a member of a team, working to proactively solve problems maintain and improve safety and meet production standards.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with leaders and co-workers to ensure production goals are met.
- Additional functions, not specifically outlined in this position description, as directed by the leader.
- Experience with CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, welding, and electrical discharge machining is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, and cranes
- Ability to read complex blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, tooling setup, and fabrication techniques for sheet metal components
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and material dimensions
