Job OverviewIn this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and FCAW, and demonstrate a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical principles. All work performed will comply with industry standards such as ASME codes and standards.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and other welding techniques on diverse materials such as sheet metal, pipe, and ductwork.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble components accurately.
- Conduct measurements with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure parts meet specified dimensions.
- Execute rigging tasks involving crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely during fabrication or installation.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to welding defects or structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, pipe threading, soldering, machining, or fabrication projects as needed.
- Support construction activities by working on-site at various locations while following project schematics and schematics.
- Ensure all work complies with ASME codes & standards for quality assurance.
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities as a welder.
- Proficiency in MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas), TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and other fabrication tools.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures involving cranes for lifting heavy components safely.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of pipe threading, soldering techniques, machining processes, and assembly operations.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Experience working with ASME codes & standards in a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
