Manufacturing Technician – First Shift

External  # 1726

Narrows, VA- ONSITE

10 month W2 contract (with potential to extend or transition to perm) — Pay rate: $19-21/hr - Depending on Education and Experience

Schedule:
Mon‑Fri; 7am‑3:30 PM

5+ yrs experience in a manufacturing, production, research/process lab

Beginner Experience with Word and Excel, and Data Entry Required

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support by operating lab pilot‑scale mixers, pumps, tanks, and high speed mechanical processing equipment according to a provided trial plan or procedure.
  • Perform physical and visual quality evaluations.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Review of process controls and data for report out and further optimization.
  • Effectively communicate data and trial learnings to coordinator for continuous improvement.
  • Employee will be expected to use initiative and troubleshooting skills to help identify problems and implement corrective actions.
Skills or Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, process laboratory environment, or hands‑on research facility.
  • Mechanical acumen and chemical handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with a motorized pallet jack is preferred.
  • Employee must be able to work independently with limited instruction.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50‑lbs and move heavy items with assistance occasionally.
  • Computer skills and the effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel relating to data manipulation and report generation are required.

HS Diploma or Equivalent
