CNC Operator

Location: Roanoke

Trillium Staffing is now seeking CNC Operators in Roanoke!

Pay range: $21 - $25/hr.

The CNC Turning Operator is responsible for running production on CNC lathes, including loading materials, monitoring machining operations, and performing basic quality checks. The operator ensures jobs are run efficiently and to spec by following setup sheets, travelers, and in-process inspection guidelines. This position is also designed as a development role for individuals seeking to grow into CNC setup and programming responsibilities.

Operators are encouraged to learn the craft, refine their machining knowledge, and take on progressively more technical responsibilities over time.
Load and unload parts on CNC turning centers according to job routers and setup instructions.

Job Duties:

-Monitor machine operations and make minor adjustments to maintain part conformance.
-Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges.
-Accurately document production counts and inspection results.
-Report any tooling, quality, or machine issues to the lead or supervisor.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area.
-Follow all shop safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
-Actively participate in learning setup techniques and basic programming concepts as part of a growth path.

Qualifications:

-1+ year of experience operating CNC lathes or turning centers preferred.
-Basic knowledge of CNC turning operations and tooling.
-Ability to use basic precision measuring instruments.
-Ability to read and follow simple mechanical drawings and work instructions.
-Strong attention to detail and safety.
-Willingness to learn setup, tool selection, and programming principles through on-the-job training and mentorship.
