Job SummaryMcKee Foods is seeking a Production Associate, 1st Shift to join our Manufacturing team. This is an entry-level position at our bakery that requires no previous experience. We offer on-the-job training in our modern manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll play an important role on our high-speed production line ensuring the efficient and precise packaging of our snack cakes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing minor line equipment set ups, moving product trays, conducting product inspections
- Monitoring: inspecting product quality and removing defects to meet quality and productivity targets
- Loading and Unloading: moving materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- Case-packing/palletizing: placing cartons into shipping cases and/or stacking shipping cases onto pallets
- Operating: operating power hoists and electric pallet jacks to lift heavy objects
- Demonstrates a solid work history reflected in reliable attendance, safe work practices, effective job performance, adaptability and teamwork
- Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions while sitting or standing for duration of entire shift
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move more than 100 pounds (with or without accommodation)
- Ability to read, write, and do basic math
- Record product data using a computer
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, and equipment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Maintain a clean work area and practice good personal hygiene
- Keeps waste to a minimum while ensuring products meet quality specifications and food safety standards
- Follow proper safety procedures at all times. This includes wearing approved uniform such as hearing protection, hairnets, slip-resistant shoes, etc.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or a related field
- Previous technical training
- Accurate measurement and conversion skills
- Troubleshooting ability
- Previous machine operator experience
