SpecificResponsibilities:
- Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact.
- Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
- Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Examine shipment contents andcompare withrecords such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
- Keep and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Follow all HACCP and good manufacturing practices (GMP’s)
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
- Follow any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Customer service skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
- Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
- Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Utilize various equipment as needed to perform duties.
