Job Description
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. Responsible for profitable growth via customer retention and growth, partnering with the GM to manage Team Members. Requires expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts, ability to source from multiple channels, and direct drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Full-time role.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain commercial customer relationships.
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers.
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives.
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for Team Members.
- Collaborate with GM on coaching and developmental needs.
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are met.
- Maintain commercial stocking programs.
- Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers.
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns.
- Maintain commercial credit accounts.
- Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project and product quality recommendation ability.
- Advanced selling skills for commercial customers.
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized.
Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Commercial Parts Pro
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively with customers, peers and management.
- Read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals); write simple correspondence.
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Use basic math accurately.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understand commercial profitability concepts, including competition, market opportunities and customer prioritization.
- Work assorted days, evenings and weekends as needed.
A minimum of 3 years of prior automotive parts experience is preferred.
Proven sales ability with past experience in fulfillment of customer transactions.
Formal or informal experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks and working together to achieve goals.
EducationHigh school diploma or GED.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsASE Certification preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands- Predominantly walking or standing.
- Use hands & fingers, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Requirements for vision, hearing, speech, hand‑movement.
Mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor exposure to weather. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high locations, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, vibration. Noise level usually moderate.
Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
