We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with DOT experience to lead and oversee all aspects of workplace and transportation safety. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations, reducing workplace incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health risks.
- Conduct safety training sessions and ensure all programs meet regulatory requirements.
- Review and update safety policies, training materials, and compliance documentation.
- Perform regular safety inspections, audits, and equipment checks.
- Investigate workplace and vehicle accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain driver qualification files (DQFs), including CDLs, MVRs, DOT medical certificates, and employment verifications.
- Oversee the DOT drug and alcohol testing program (pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion) in compliance with 49 CFR Part 40.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle maintenance, and Hazmat requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for DOT, FMCSA, and insurance inspections.
- Monitor safety performance metrics, ELD reports, and CSA scores to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping for all inspections, training, incidents, and compliance activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations.
- Proficiency with fleet safety/ELD systems (e.g., Samsara, Geotab) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, leadership, and training abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence a safety-first culture.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
