The Tides Inn is a beloved waterfront, luxury resort nestled on Carter’s Creek in Irvington, Virginia. The property has been a cherished destination for generations and has recently undergone a number of renovations and enhancements that are helping elevate the brand and overall experience. The Tides features 70 luxurious accommodations, tennis and pickleball courts, wellness treatments, a working farm, Markers Space (for artistic activities), its own marina and two distinct restaurants, Salt & Meadow Restaurant and Fish Hawk Oyster Bar.

The Painter is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance and structural integrity of the resort through professional painting, surface preparation, and general finish work. This role supports the overall guest experience by ensuring all interior and exterior surfaces are maintained to high hospitality standards. In addition to painting, the Painter performs drywall repair, patchwork, wood maintenance, power washing, surface preparation, and other related maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and maintains a strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail in a resort environment.

• Prepare surfaces for painting including scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming
• Perform interior and exterior painting of guest rooms, common areas, restaurants, offices, and exterior structures, and any other resort areas and properties
• Complete drywall repairs, including patchwork, texturing, and finishing
• Perform wood maintenance including staining, sealing, refinishing, and minor carpentry repairs
• Operate power washing equipment for building exteriors, walkways, decks, and related surfaces
• Maintain paint and materials inventory and ensure proper storage of supplies
• Match paint colors and finishes to maintain brand and design standards
• Protect furnishings and flooring during work to avoid damage
• Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
• Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Assist with other general maintenance duties as assigned
