This is skilled work, which involves maintaining the operating capacity and aesthetic appearance of all parks and open spaces throughout the town. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks in the maintenance and care of parks, athletic fields, trails, landscape beds, playgrounds and public lands, operating power and automotive equipment in the performance of required work tasks.
For more detailed job descriptions, please visit the Town's Job Description s page. HS diploma/GED; minimum 18 years old; minimum of two (2) years experience in horticultural and/or grounds maintenance; ability to operate mechanized maintenance equipment and vehicles.
Possession of valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Pesticide Applicators Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
CPR, AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Minimum of five (5) years in horticultural and/or grounds maintenance experience; ability to use the computer running basic operating programs.
Electrician’s license or plumbing certification.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
