Overview

Position

Purpose:

The AI and Process Automation Specialist serves as the internal expert and advocate for artificial intelligence (AI) and the Microsoft Power Platform. This role focuses on identifying and delivering high-impact automation solutions that address business challenges and enhance efficiency. The Specialist will translate complex needs into practical technology solutions, foster a culture of innovation, and build the foundation for a sustainable automation strategy.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position requiring both technical expertise and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

Strategy &

Collaboration:

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to identify and prioritize processes for automation and AI integration.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and IT, translating needs into technical requirements.
  • Develop a roadmap for AI and Power Platform adoption aligned with strategic goals, starting with low-risk, high impact projects.

Solution Development:

  • Design and deploy automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Collaborate with external consultants and vendors on complex implementations.
  • Build and implement AI agents or copilots for employee support and customer interactions.
  • Create Power BI dashboards and reports to measure performance and ROI.
  • Work with risk and compliance teams to establish governance frameworks ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed projects.
  • Document AI models, workflows, and decision-making processes for transparency and auditability.

Training & Change Management:

  • Develop and deliver AI literacy and training programs for end-users and IT staff.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting automation benefits and building departmental AI ambassadors.
  • Gather feedback and iterate solutions for successful adoption and continuous improvement.
Requirements

Where you’ll shine:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Strong analytical skills to assess processes, identify automation opportunities, and measure business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and passion for staying current on AI and automation advancements.
  • Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and practical implementation. Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL-200, PL-400, or similar).
  • Experience with Azure AI, OpenAI API, or other AI platforms.
  • Knowledge of RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism).
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Model risk management familiarity.
  • Programming experience (Python or similar).
  • Previous work with banking core systems (Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS) is preferred.

Working Conditions
  • This job operates in a professional office environment with most of the time spent working on administrative tasks.
  • The individual will sometimes be required to be available after normal working hours. Business travel may be necessary to meet with vendors and attend training opportunities.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
  • This role also requires the ability to stand/sit for extended periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to do body movements of walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers, and lifting more than 60 lbs.
