People and Compliance Manager at Ares Enterprise
Ensure organizational compliance across Human Resources, federal contracting, and regulatory requirements. Serve as a critical control function, overseeing HR policies, employment law compliance, contract administration, and adherence to federal acquisition regulations. Partner closely with leadership to enable compliant growth.
Responsibilities- Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA), federal contracting requirements (FAR, DFARS, labor clauses), and internal controls. Support audits, assessments, and regulatory change tracking.
- Human Resources Management – Manage HR policies, employee lifecycle processes, compensation, benefits, timekeeping, and employee relations under government contracts. Oversee records, HRIS data integrity, and training on ethics and mandatory requirements.
- Contracts Management – Administer prime and subcontract agreements, coordinate with legal and business leadership on reviews, modifications, renewals, and subcontractor compliance. Maintain contract files and documentation.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership & Advisory – Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on compliance, HR, and contractual risk. Collaborate with Finance, Program Management, and Business Development. Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics for leadership visibility and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Contracts Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in HR compliance, contracts management, or a combined role within a government contracting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, labor regulations, and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting audits and government reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP, PHR/SPHR, CPCM, or similar.
- Experience in small to mid‑sized federal contractors or SBA‑certified businesses (WOSB, 8(a), SDVOSB).
- Familiarity with HRIS, timekeeping, and contract management systems.
- Experience supporting proposal compliance and post‑award contract administration.
- Compliance‑driven and detail‑oriented.
- Strong judgment and ethical decision‑making.
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
- Executive‑level communication and advisory capability.
