We’re looking for a dedicated and ambitious Commis Chef to join our award-winning team at Dormy House Hotel & Spa — one of the Cotswolds’ most recognised boutique luxury hotels.Dormy House is home to 3 AA Rosette dining at The Back Garden and our Michelin-featured chef’s table, MO. As Commis Chef, you’ll work alongside a skilled, supportive brigade under the guidance of Michelin-starred Culinary Director Martin Burge, giving you the perfect environment to build confidence, refine core techniques and grow into your next role.
You’ll be joining a calm, well‑organised and well‑equipped kitchen where high standards, teamwork and consistency are at the heart of everything we do. If you’re keen to progress and enjoy working with fresh, seasonal ingredients, this is an excellent next step.
What you’ll be doing :- Supporting your section to deliver consistently high-quality dishes
- Preparing ingredients and assisting with mise en place and service
- Working closely with senior chefs to learn and develop
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Helping to keep service smooth, efficient and professional
- Contributing to stock control, prep and organisation
- Experience working with fresh, seasonal produce in a quality-led kitchen
- A strong work ethic and commitment to learning
- A reliable, positive and professional approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A desire to grow and progress in a structured, supportive environment
- £32,448 per year
- Approximately £36,000 total earnings
- 48 hours per week
- Meals on duty and uniform provided
- 30 days holiday (rising to 35 after 5 years)
