• Set up sterile field and gather supplies for surgical cases based on knowledge of instruments and equipment to be used.
• Pass instruments to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Perform count procedures per policy during surgical cases.
• Function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Tech in Surgery‑Certified (TS‑C), or Certified Operating Room and Surgical Technician (CORST) preferred.

• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Must achieve CST, TS‑C, or CORST certification within 24 months of hire.

• 0‑2 years of experience as a surgical technologist required.
• Experience working in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant or aide (if no surgical technologist experience).

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program, military training program, Licensed Practical Nursing Program, or Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (RN Interns Only).

• Surgical Technologists work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with employee’s specific Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator.
• Schedules may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements.
• Takes call for routine cases after completing probationary period.

• Physical:
  Lifting 50‑100 lbs.; exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
• Activities:
  
  Prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive), repetitive motion.
• Mental/Sensory:
  Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking.
• Emotional:
  Fast‑paced environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent intense customer interactions, noisy environment, adapt to frequent change.
