YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFEWe are looking for a Microbiologist (I or II) in 2183 SE Hawthorne Rd, Gainesville, FL 32641 USA. Your mission will be to:
Microbiologist I Responsibilities- Assist with culture preparation and sample inoculation.
- Prepare projects for shelf‑life studies and less complex assignments, including ordering media, supplies and preparation of materials.
- Perform challenge studies under management oversight.
- Conduct less complex special testing and non‑routine analyses.
- Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
- Pipette samples into tubes or onto agar plates according to the specific analysis process.
- Perform shelf‑life studies with limited oversight.
- Assist with the interpretation of results.
- Track the status of designated tests to ensure client turnaround times are met and inform supervisors of any non‑compliance.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness.
- Complete supply inventories and determine media needs for upcoming studies.
- Have moderate knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Be proficient in quantitative sample preparation, pipetting, and plating.
- Have a general understanding of bacterial plate counts and entry‑level microbiological techniques.
- Have general knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Use calendars and daily checklists to organize studies.
- Have strong multitasking skills and the manual dexterity required to manipulate samples.
- Assist with culture preparation and sample inoculation.

- Perform shelf‑life studies autonomously as project lead.
- Perform challenge studies with limited management oversight.
- Conduct more complex special testing and non‑routine analyses.
- Manage calendar and daily checklist.
- Assist with writing proposals, interpreting data and writing final reports.
- Schedule projects with management oversight.
- Provide limited customer interaction (e.g., provide sample receipt conditions, communicate minor project adjustments, project status and send preliminary reports).
- Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
- Pipette samples into tubes or onto agar plates according to the specific analysis process.
- Track the status of designated tests to ensure client turnaround times are met and inform supervisors of any non‑compliance.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness.
- Complete supply inventories and determine media needs for upcoming studies.
- Have expert knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Have strong multitasking skills and the manual dexterity required to manipulate samples.

Profile (required education/qualifications and professional background):
