Applicant is expected to have a valid driver’s license and meet Carilion Clinic’s expectations for a qualified driver.

• Requisition s, inspects, receives, and stocks inventory items for maintaining appropriate par levels.
• Assembles, repackages, or replenishes kits, components and carts.
• Replenishes supplies to ensure sufficient availability.
• May assemble, disassemble and label shelving and storage units.
• Picks up and delivers medical equipment regularly to ensure availability where required.
• Operates computers and equipment. Uses Lawson MMIS, product utilization evaluations, and monitors critical supply levels to prevent shortages; supports recommended min/max levels and order points; resolves zero picks and monitors daily.
• Monitors supplies for proper labeling, expiration dates and integrity of packaging.
• Recommends cost controls over stock inventories.
• Coordinates requisitions, receipts and returns for assigned areas using established policies.
• Communicates with vendors, physicians, nurses, patients, and peers at other healthcare facilities.
• Supports product evaluations and changes.
• May assist with new-employee orientation, computerization training and provides guidance to buyers or other support staff.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience can be accepted in lieu of education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel spreadsheets including formulas, sorting large amounts of data, and printing). Familiarity with automated procurement and inventory control systems. Ability to act independently with minimum supervision. Ability to work with others in a team setting. Ability to meet deadlines within short time frames. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
