Job Details:

• Work day shifts with every other weekend requirement

• Work 2 week day shifts based on staffing needs

• Holiday rotation required - if one holiday falls in assignment expect to work it; if two holidays expect to work one; if three expect to work two

• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• First-time travelers accepted

• Must have BLS certification required

• Work on 2 West Medical Innovation Unit - a 32-bed medical/surgical unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice

• Care for adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, malignancy, GI bleed, sepsis, diabetes management, COPD, wound care, and various other medical conditions

• Skills required include IV insulin protocols, colostomy care, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, PICC line management, and high flow nasal cannula

• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services

• Must pass fit testing and maintain clean-shaven appearance for proper mask fitting

• Zero tolerance policy for THC - medical marijuana cards not accepted

• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only

• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a progressive Medical Innovation Unit that serves as a catalyst for new technologies and innovative nursing practice. The 32-bed medical/surgical unit utilizes advanced equipment including Hercules beds and focuses on early adoption of new technology and nursing practice models. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains high standards for patient care with a daily census of approximately 30 patients.
