Keswick School, an internationally recognized nonprofit therapeutic boarding school for boys near Charlotteville, VA, is seeking an exceptionally talented and engaging full-time psychologist or mental health professional to join our robust therapeutic community. Our clinical team includes a child and adolescent psychiatrist, a Ph.D. clinical psychologist, a Ph.D. marriage and family counselor, a doctoral-level occupational therapist, an independent-licensed LCSW, a speech-language pathologist, and an art therapist.
Responsibilities- Direct the experience, growth, and development of a small caseload of boys ages 10–17 with complex functional challenges, using traditional therapies and dynamic, context-based interventions.
- Lead individual, family, and group therapies, and support multidisciplinary teams and program development.
- Work with students who have multiple diagnoses, as well as developmental, attachment, and social-emotional difficulties.
- Demonstrate maturity, emotional investment, creativity, follow-through, and an inspired commitment to children’s growth and well-being.
- Experience in school or residential settings, social thinking, neuro-cognitive functioning, experiential approaches, and hands-on learning is preferred.
- Licensed or eligible mental health professional (e.g., psychologist or related field) with appropriate credentials.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in school or residential settings is a plus.
