Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting, requiring current BLS and Virginia PT license for travel candidates living at least 50 miles from the facility.

• Work in a hospital-attached outpatient clinic specializing in geriatrics, orthopedics, and neuro rehab
• 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday with the possibility of weekend hospital shifts if seeking a weekday off
• Patient population primarily includes geriatric ambulatory, postoperative joint replacements, post-stroke, balance, and related conditions
• Use of cryotherapy, heating pads, antigravity devices, TENS units, and parallel bars typical to outpatient physical therapy
• Collaborative team environment with PTs, OT, Speech Therapist, Rehab Tech, and Supervisor onsite
• Travel assignment with a 50-mile radius rule for eligibility
• Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions across outpatient and potentially inpatient and community settings
• Involves collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized treatment plans
• Participation in patient and family education and discharge planning is expected
• Team provides full support with an experienced interdisciplinary staff
• Participation in process improvement and continuing education is encouraged
• Scrubs or professional attire required as per department guidelines
• Position is open to temp-to-perm opportunities
• All candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered

• Current BLS certification required
• Active Virginia Physical Therapy license required if applicable
• Minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required; doctorate preferred
• Open to both experienced therapists and new graduates
• Must pass or retake EKG testing on first day; study guides provided
• Physical ability to work in a busy outpatient rehabilitation environment
