Job Description

The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Recreational Therapist with the coordination and planning of therapeutic and recreational activities for the participants of the program. The Activities Assistant will possess good organizational skills and function well in a team environment.

• Assist in developing and implementing specific programs to include recreational and social activities.
• Assist Recreational Therapist to plan and provide both group and individual activities.
• Assist Recreational Therapist to plan outside entertainment field trips and accompany participants as needed.
• Communicate participant changes to team members.
• Complete all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Participate in daily meetings.
• Participate in the coordination of a hour care delivery system.
• Participate in the development of the participant plan of care.
• Serve as a resource to staff and coordinate volunteer activities at the center.

• High School Diploma / GED.
• One (1) or two (2) years of experience in activities or at least one (1) year of experience, either volunteer or paid, working with the frail elderly.
