VCU Community Memorial Hospital located in South Hill, Virginia, is seeking an OB/GYN. South Hill is located approximately 80 miles south of the main VCU Health campus in Richmond, VA, and about 80 miles north of Raleigh/Durham, NC.
VCU Healths CMH facility, which opened in 2017, includes an IP labor and delivery unit and OP services are provided in the hospitals attached medical office building suites. US News and World Report recognized VCUs CMH among the Best Hospitals for Maternity. The Ob-Gyn team is comprised of three physicians and one nurse practitioner, with approximately 250 deliveries annually, and a 1 in 3 call schedule.
CMH provides a wide array of in-patient services, including acute care along with many outpatient services and programs. Since our inception, we have grown to be one of the areas largest employers with approximately 800 employees, 200+ volunteers and 85 physicians representing 30 medical specialties on staff.
The technologically advanced facility provides 70 private patient rooms and baths, including four LDRPs (single room obstetrical care). There are three operating room suites, a c-section suite, and a 16-bay emergency department. Outpatient procedures include colposcopy, biopsies, pap/pelvic exams, IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/removal; scheduled surgeries include minimally invasive hysterectomy, cesarean sections, hysteroscopy, Myosure, Novasure, laparoscopy. High risk cases are assessed and when necessary, conferring with and if needed transferring to VCU Healths main academic health center campus in Richmond, via ambulance or helicopter.
