The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist in the Eligibility & Enrollment Services/Enrollment Division.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
This position will serve as the Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist and provide technical support and assistance ensuring the accuracy of eligibility enrollments.
The incumbent will perform highly technical analysis and support to state and local Department of Social Services agencies to resolve complex enrollment issues.
The incumbent will also serve as a division liaison reviewing various enrollment reports and performing the necessary analysis to troubleshoot complex enrollment issues.
This position regularly communicates with local Department of Social Services and Virginia Department of Social Services staff to resolve complex eligibility and enrollment transaction failures and enrollment failures.
The business needs for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to occasional in office meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of publicly administered assistance programs, such as Medicaid (to include Families and Children, Aged, Blind, and Disabled (ABD), Long-Term Supports and Services (LTSS)) and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)/Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS).
Considerable experience providing sound technical and programmatic assistance to individuals inquiring about the Medicaid and FAMIS programs.
Considerable experience in the eligibility and enrollment process with experience determining eligibility for the Medicaid and CHIP programs.
Considerable experience in planning and implementing policy and procedure changes for the Medicaid and CHIP programs.
Considerable knowledge and experience with the Virginia Case Management System (VaCMS) and Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), or any successor systems, as well as operating a personal computer with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Experience meeting deadlines.
Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
