The SHPD has made significant strides in upgrading our equipment and infrastructure in recent years. As a fully accredited agency through Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC), we take pride in providing top-tier services to our community of approximately 5,000 residents, while also supporting thousands of weekly visitors traveling via our two major interstate exits (I-85) and US 58.
What We Offer- Starting Salary: $57,000/year for certified officers. Salaries are negotiable based on years of experience and qualifications, particularly for Virginia-certified law enforcement officers.
- Work Schedule:
Twelve-hour shifts with every other weekend off, plus opportunities for additional overtime and court-related overtime. - Benefits:
