Senior Roadway/Transportation Engineer
Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer in our growing Fairfax or Richmond, VA offices. The successful candidate will work on all phases of transportation projects for a variety of public and private sector clients and will be responsible for designing interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabouts, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm‑water management, utility relocations, and preparing contract documents, primarily for Caltrans and public agencies.

- Lead design of horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, and storm‑water management.
- Conduct traffic studies and develop maintenance of traffic plans.
- Prepare and review contract documents.
- Plan and oversee utility relocations and bridge projects.
- Use AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Microsoft Office Suite to complete project deliverables.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- VA PE license, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Proficient with Micro Station.
- Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
- Strong communication skills with clients, coworkers, sub‑consultants, and agency review staff.
- Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
