Construction Manager

Our client,
Microsoft Corporation a leader in data center construction and infrastructure engineering
, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Construction Manager 5, you will be part of the Construction and Engineering Department
, supporting the Mechanical Systems Team
. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaboration abilities that will align successfully with the organization’s high standards of performance and safety.

Job Title: Construction Manager 5

Location: Boydton, VA (onsite)

Pay Range: $76.10 – $83.70 per hour

• Oversee the mechanical scope of a mission-critical data center construction project from design review through commissioning.
• Review mechanical design documents, submittals, and IFC drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and project standards.
• Conduct field walks and inspections to verify installations, sequence construction activities, and monitor safety compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain project timelines.
• Support system startup, testing, commissioning, and final turnover documentation for mechanical systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical systems design and construction (data center experience preferred).
• Strong technical background in BAS systems, mechanical equipment, and construction processes.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and understanding of mechanical QA/QC procedures.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
