Duties
  • You will serve as the Lead Technician in the specialized area of Radiation Detection, Indication, and Computation (RADIAC) Instrument Calibration and repair.
  • You will lead RADIAC Calibration Laboratory technicians and contractors to ensure worldwide radiation measurements are accurate and reliable.
  • You will provide the quality control oversight on the work performed by lower level/contract technicians within the Branch.
  • You will provide technical assistance/guidance to the team, In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), RADIAC research and Development program.
  • You will instruct employees in specific tasks and jobs techniques.
  • You will provide technical oversight and coordination in the use of highly complex precision measuring equipment and electronic instrumentation.
  • You will troubleshoot and diagnose problems in the very complex circuitry involved in the many various types of radiation detection instrumentation.
  • You will administer the RADIAC training and qualification program to the team in accordance with established NAVSEA guidelines.
  • You will provide technical guidance and technical assistance on assigned systems.
  • You will investigate, analyze and resolve problems pertaining to the design, installation, maintenance, operation and resolve problems.
  • You will review repair/calibration reports and certification sheets from data obtained during testing.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You are required to have successfully completed RADIAC Instrumentation Calibration/Maintenance course (RICC) prior to placement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
