We are seeking Structural Engineers to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Richmond, VA office.
Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including waterfront facilities (piers, wharves, and bulkheads); dry docks and graving docks; and waterfront buildings. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.
Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of waterfront projects using various materials including concrete, steel, aluminum and FRP. Conduct field investigations, develop concept designs, and create construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets including Federal/Local Government and Industrial/Shipbuilding.
Responsibilities:
- Structural analysis, design and detailing for a variety of waterfront facility types
- Vessel berthing and mooring analysis
- Field investigation, documentation, and report development
- Development of plans, sections, and details in CADD and BIM platforms
- Development of reports, cost estimates and specifications
- Coordination with other disciplines and project stakeholders
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration or similar.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, OPTIMOOR, etc.)
- Experience with vessel berthing and mooring analyses
- Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration preferred.
- Professional Engineer license preferred
