About the roleThe Fire Consultant will be employed on a “sub-contract” basis.
The Fire Consultant will deliver high-quality fire risk assessment reports, act as a key contact during site visits, and positively influence the customer’s perception of the company.
The Fire Consultant will conduct fire risk assessments, make verbal recommendations on-site, and document these in the formal report.
Person Specification- Full understanding of the current legislation related to The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Full understanding of relevant British Standards relating to fire and life safety systems.
- Confident, professional communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Produce high-quality work and comprehensive reports.
- Effective organization to ensure timely delivery of reports.
- Experience in assessing all types of buildings (Commercial, Industrial, Domestic); two redacted FRA reports will be requested.
- Excellent computer and electronic device skills.
- Demonstrate industry-leading fire safety knowledge to produce compliant fire risk assessments.
- Produce accurate and efficient paperwork consistently.
- Collaborate with the admin team to develop effective working practices.
- Ensure best practice methods are used during assessments.
- Maintain responsibility for the quality of service to customers and staff.
- Stay updated with current fire legislation and apply it to assessments.
- Proven experience in completing Fire Risk Assessments.
- Be accredited to “Associate” level by the Institute of Fire Engineers or be on the IFE “competent risk assessor” register.
- Possess high literacy and written communication skills.
- Plan and organize workloads to meet service delivery time frames.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
- Additional professional qualifications in fire safety management and fire risk assessments from reputable providers are desirable.
