Position Summary:
The Safety Professional oversees Construction Project Safety, Health (S&H), and Risk Management. Responsibilities include managing multiple Safety programs, developing and implementing site-specific safety plans, and collaborating with Project Management on Operational Risk Management (ORM). The role involves solving complex problems with practical and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with General Contractor (GC) and/or owner regarding site conditions and Non-Compliance Notices (NCN).
- Participate in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/sub-contractors to advise on mitigation plans, S&H training, and technical reports.
- Assist in developing and implementing Site Specific Accident Prevention Programs (APP) and training plans to meet safety requirements.
- Support site safety budgets, safe work permits, and ensure compliance with contracts, plans, and specifications.
- Lead the ORM team in reviewing and developing safety plans based on project and client specifications, design drawings, and regulations. Conduct incident investigations and reporting.
- Maintain knowledge of safety standards, rules, and regulations, including OSHA and DOT compliance, insurance audits, workers' compensation, and emergency plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint.
Qualifications
Position/Candidate Requirements:
- 6+ years with a high school diploma
- 4+ years with an Associate's Degree
- 0+ years with a Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in S&H training and regulatory compliance (1910, 1926, EM-385 1-1)
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems
- Familiarity with ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000
- Understanding of organizational culture and team-building skills
- Trainer Certification: OSHA 500/502 or equivalent
- Willingness to pursue certifications like ASP, CSP, CHST
- Previous experience in electrical, construction, industrial, federal, or commercial S&H
