DSI Tech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in delivering exceptional wireless network solutions to our clients. You’ll be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of LAN and Cisco Wireless infrastructures across multiple client environments.
This position demands a strong technical background, a proactive mindset, and outstanding customer service and problem‑solving skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about cutting‑edge wireless technologies and thrives in a client‑facing, high‑impact role.
We are specifically seeking a local candidate based in or near Ashburn, VA, with the ability to travel up to 50%, including after‑hours and weekend availability for fieldwork at client locations.
Position Responsibilities- Conduct both remote and on‑site consultations with clients to plan, design, implement, and support enterprise wireless network infrastructures
- Develop and execute technical architecture and physical designs for wireless and data networks by analyzing existing systems and recommending tailored solutions
- Configure, test, and deploy Cisco wireless technologies to ensure high‑performance and secure wireless connectivity
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade wireless systems, providing expert‑level solutions to complex hardware and software issues
- Partner with Account Executives during the pre‑sales process to educate customers on emerging technologies and align solutions with their business needs
- Serve as a Cisco Wireless Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both customers and internal technical teams
- Maintain industry certifications (such as CCIE and others) to meet Cisco Gold and Master partner compliance standards
- Stay current on the latest wireless and wireless security technologies by actively engaging with professional forums, blogs, and technical communities
- Provide project management support, coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Ensure a reliable and stable performance environment for enterprise applications through proactive network design and maintenance
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment where excellence in service delivery is a top priority
- Provide technical leadership by guiding the work of team members, contractors, and subcontractors as needed
- Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards
- Contribute to knowledge sharing across teams and promote a collaborative, team‑oriented work culture
- CCIE Wireless certification is required and must be maintained for compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Electrical/General Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years’ experience in Cisco wireless and network engineering environments, including LAN/WAN design, security, and deployment
- Strong expertise with Cisco wireless solutions, including Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Hands‑on experience with WLAN design tools such as Ekahau, netAlly, or iBwave
- In‑depth knowledge of wireless networking standard (802.11, RF) and security protocols (802.1X, RADIUS, WPA2, EAP‑TLS, PKI)
- Proficiency in wired networking concepts including routing, switching, TCP/IP
- Experience with high‑density Access Point (AP) and client deployments
- Python scripting skills are a plus
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to write Statements of Work (SOWs) and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs
- Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Ongoing commitment to staying current with wireless and security technologies
