Mechanical Design Engineer for advanced sawmill equipment and machinery. Creating technical drawings, layout drawings, advanced 3D CAD modeling. Assist in product ideation and design. Participates in design reviews and revisions. Collaborate with simulation and manufacturing teams and modify upon feedback. Working alongside drafters and manufacturing engineers to develop understanding of manufacturing processes, processing parts through ERP system including the creation of Bill of Materials and Part Routers.

Documentation and revision change processes on existing and new parts.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm

Qualifications

Education/

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design

Software

Skills:

  • Solid Works - Advanced
  • AutoCAD - Advanced
  • Microsoft Office – Proficient
  • ERP System – Proficient
  • Data entry / computer skills - Advanced

Technical

Skills:

  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Understanding of Manufacturing processes
  • ERP – Part entry, Bill of Material, Part Routings
  • Advanced CAD modeling skills
  • Tolerance analysis and understanding
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or college degree in Engineering

  • Experience with heavy industrial machinery or sawmill equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems
  • Familiarity with FEA, load calculations, and structural analysis
  • Experience supporting equipment in field or production environments
