The Geotechnical Technician will assist with day‑to‑day activities associated with perimeter ditch and berm systems, recharge ditches, pipeline crossings, water-holding mined lands and above‑grade impoundments. The technician will perform rule‑required inspections of clay settling dams for integrity, determine maintenance requirements, and confirm completion of work. The technician must remain vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workers and report any environmental or safety issues.

• Provide assistance to reclamation, environmental, mine dewatering and operations staff with implementation of best‑management practices and water‑table mitigation programs.
• Accumulate data and compile reports for regulatory agency reporting, compliance and permitting purposes involving clay slurry station pumping data and piezometers. Prepare and distribute reports to support programs.
• Coordinate and oversee remedial activities and construction/maintenance of perimeter ditch and berm systems, recharge ditches, pipeline crossings, water-holding mined lands, non‑clay and clay settling areas and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct daily inspections of dams, gather information and evaluate findings to ensure compliance; determine if remedial action is necessary.

• High School/GED required.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (entry level).
