Geotechnical Staff Engineer

Geotechnical Staff Engineer. Provide professional geotechnical engineering services on a variety of public and private sector projects—including buildings, bridges, roadways, pavements, retaining structures, underground infrastructure, storage tanks, towers, slopes, embankments, dams, and other civil works—during both design and construction phases.

• Work with other members of the geotechnical services department, including geologists, technicians, drill crews, and sub‑consultants.
• Prepare geotechnical project work scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Plan and coordinate field exploration programs including site reconnaissance.
• Perform soil and rock classification.
• Plan and coordinate geotechnical laboratory testing programs.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analysis, calculations, and computer modeling.
• Develop geotechnical engineering design parameters and recommendations.
• Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and deliverables.
• Manage geotechnical engineering projects, including schedules, budgets, and invoicing.
• Communicate with existing and potential clients.
• Conduct field logging and support drilling programs for a variety of projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical, or related field.
• EIT license preferred.
• 0–4 years of experience preferred.
• Proficient with writing and reviewing technical reports.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Willing to travel locally to/from project sites.
• Willing to work extended hours when workload dictates.
• Effective communication with internal and external clients (written, verbal).
• Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre‑employment screening (background investigation, drug screening, driving record).
