The fastest-growing renewable natural gas producer in the country is hiring an Operations Technician to join their landfill gas-to-energy facility in Providence Forge, VA.
This is a hands-on, technical role where safety, reliability, and problem-solving are part of your day-to-day. You’ll monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues in real time, perform maintenance, and operations in a live energy facility. - Monitor and operate the plant safely during assigned shifts
- Conduct rounds inside and outside the facility, inspecting equipment
- Record and trend operational data (temperatures, pressures, fluid levels)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process issues in real time
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs using hand tools
- Work with SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems to monitor and adjust plant operations
- Maintain clean, organized work spaces
- Complete logs, reports, and maintenance documentation
- Participate in rotating on‑call duties and overtime as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, chemical, power plant, or related operations OR trade school training
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
- Basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read manuals, schematics, and P&IDs
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in industrial environments
- Willingness to complete 3‑month specialized plant training
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check, physical, hearing test, and DOT drug testing
- Flexibility to work rotating schedule: 10 days on / 4 days off, 7:00 am–3:00 pm
- Landfill gas, RNG, or industrial gas operations
- Electrical/electronics background
- SCADA, PLC, or process control exposure
- Industrial equipment maintenance
- Technical certifications or formal trade training
